Jude & Alice in NYC - day two

13:05:00

Hi everybody! Well, after our amazing experience on Wednesday night in Harlem we decided to see a little of Brooklyn on Thursday. We went to 5th Avenue Diner (in Brooklyn not Manhattan) for a (late) breakfast. Brooklyn is really cool. Few tourists come here as most people think that everything is in Manhattan but we would strongly recommend you spend time here.

with Alice doing a Swing Out…but where oh where???

After seeing Manhattan from Brooklyn Bridge Park we crossed the bridge itself, went uptown, got salads and dessert “to go” and had lunch in Central Park.

Little clue on positioning...
Then it was time to continue our #Swingtrip voyage into the past of Lindy Hop and Swing… and we have a LINDY HOP HISTORY DETECTIVE STORY, especially for our friend Lucie Q Lindynerd…. In today’s blog we post a few photos without giving all the information. Lucie Q, your mission – if you choose to accept it – is to discover why these photos are important, working backwards and forwards in time and then once you crack the code, well some NdN- Nerd Notes should definitely be the order of the day!!!

This photo is inportant but what’s the connection with the others in today’s blog???

In the evening we went to Frim Fram, which is a 4th floor Thursday night venue for Lindyhoppers on 8th Avenue in Manhattan. Check it out at https://www.facebook.com/frimframjam

Frim Fram boasts good DJ music, good atmosphere and very friendly Lindyhoppers. We arrived at 11.30 and some of the dancers were already beginning to leave. It starts at 9.30 and finishes at 1am.

Here’s a video of Alice tearing up the floor at FrimFram:

We also got an interview with Heather, one of the organizers of the club, talking about the club, its history and the upcoming Frankie Manning Centennial. The interview video had a lot of background music so we’ve got one of our top experts working on it right now to try and bring up Heather’s voice… thank you Alessio Grimaldi and Marco Sanasi! We’ll post the interview asap!

So that was that for Thursday. We took the subway 2 back to Brooklyn where we’re staying. Another full and fantastic day here…..

This is part 2 of our DETECTIVE story.
Not as difficult as the Oakley photo…
are you beginning to join the dots??
For our blog on Day 3 (which we will post tomorrow) we promise more Harlem, more history, more dancing and two incredible interviews….. DON’T MISS IT !!!

Swing on!
