Jude & Alice in NYC - day five

13:46:00

Day 5 was relaxing. We spent the morning taking it easy with a full-on breakfast …. no surprise, right? By now you already know our eating habits on this trip !!

Today’s theme was shopping or, more accurately, SWING SHOES SHOPPING. Alice decided it was time to move into heels when dancing so we went searching. Of course our first point of communication was the NYC Swing Dancers page and sure enough we immediately got replies.

Alice loses herself in wonderland… Swing Shoes Wonderland!

We headed to Worldtone at 580 8th Avenue on the second floor. Now be careful because we went on Sunday afternoon and the main entrance door downstairs was closed. You need to CALL them upstairs by TELEPHONING. Yes, it means making a telephone call. The number is on the door downstairs. We had an “all travel abroad” 30 minutes package with an Italian operator at  2.50 Euro daily…. Really well worth it! So calling was no problem.

As you can see from the photos Alice really was in wonderland. Two pairs of heels later (1 ½ and 2 ½ inches) we headed to the High Line, an old raised railway line converted  into a park.

After that we went to Donut Plant on West 23rd Street. Excellent cappuccino and tasty donuts. So much so that we did a little dance… here’s the video:

So that was that for Day 5. Less rushed and less busy that previous days but we got our Swing Shopping in!
